Phyllis Solaperto Obituary

Phyllis R. (Cavallaro) Solaperto, 88, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 in UMass Memorial Healthcare after an illness.

Her husband of 39 years, Andrew L. Solaperto died in 1979. She leaves a daughter, Margaret R. Donaldson of Rutland; a brother, Lawrence S. Cavallaro of Windham, NH; 3 grandchildren, Lynn Williams and her husband Jake of Denver, CO., D. Todd Donaldson and his wife Diane of Lowell, Glenn Donaldson and his wife Meredith of Englewood, CO.; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Nathan, Rachel and Broderick; nieces and nephews. A brother, Fred J. Cavallaro and two sisters, Concettina Oliver and Rita Cavallaro predeceased her.

Phyllis was born in Lawrence, daughter of Salvatore and Jenny (Palmisano) Cavallaro and lived most of her life in Rutland. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and cooking for her family. She also loved making crafts for area fairs and spending time in Maine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Solaperto will be held on Thursday, September 4th from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Association for the Blind, 799 West Boylston Street, Worcester, MA 01606 and/or American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

Phyllis will always hold a special place in my heart. Remembering all the happy memories and some sad, that we shared about our families and loved ones. She will truely be missed by all that knew her and loved her.
