James Casello Obituary

James E. "Jimmy" Casello, 63, of Worcester passed away Saturday, August 30st 2008 in the Metrowest Hospital after being stricken ill at work.

James is survived by his two children, Sherri Galligan, her husband Shawn and their son Brady of Wallingford CT., and Christopher Casello of Auburn; his six brothers, John Casello with whom he lived, Nunzio, and Michael Casello all of Worcester, Nicholas P. Casello of Leicester, Alfred Casello in Florida, and Joseph Casello of Shrewsbury; three sisters, Rose Stachelek of Leicester, Priscilla Pavone of West Boyslton, and Anna Stewart of Auburn; many nieces and nephews. A brother, Anthony Casello and a sister, Rita Hill pre deceased him. James was born in Worcester, son of Nicola and Emily (Sena) Casello. He graduated from North High School and the Andover School of Business and has lived here all his life.

James worked the past 40 years for the Conrail Train System. He was presently a Yard Superintendent.

James loved to golf, and was an avid sports fan. He was always known as a hard worker, who was dedicated to his job, his company and most of all his family.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, September 3rd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at a time to be announced in St John's Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Tuesday, September 2nd from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

I am sorry to hear about the death of your father. My prayers are with you. I enjoyed your father very much and of course your mother when I was a priest at St. Joseph's. Your father and I really hit it off pretty well. He was very likable. I've seen your mother here and there and she seems to be very happy. Hope you are both doing well.
