Gerald Snay Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" L. Snay, Sr., 66, of Yarmouth Port and formerly of Shrewsbury, died Sunday, August 31st in the Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, after being stricken ill. Jerry was born in Worcester, son of Leo and Helen Snay, and lived in Shrewsbury for many years before moving to Yarmouth Port. He graduated from St. Peter's High School, attended Worcester Junior College and served in the US Navy as an aircraft electrician. He is best known for the many years he spent working as a car salesman at various dealerships in the Worcester area.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Fitzgibbons) Snay; his three sons: Gerald "Jerry" Snay Jr. and his wife Susan, and Michael Snay, all of Shrewsbury, Andrew Snay and his wife Doris Lee of Auburn; three cherished grandchildren; and his beloved dog Shamrock.

Visiting hours at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn will be Thursday, Sept. 4th from 5-8 PM. His funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn on Friday September 5, 2008, 9:30 AM. Committal prayers will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Raider Fund at Hyannis Animal Hospital, 102 Ansel Hallet Road, West Yarmouth, MA 02673; or to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
