Elaine Blanding Obituary

Elaine R. "Tiny" (Doherty) Blanding, 69, of 27 Mount Vernon St, died Wednesday, September 3 at home.

She leaves a son, Paul D. Blanding of Florida; two daughters, Pamela R. Osterberg of Worcester and Paulette M. Freeman of Goffstown, NH; two brothers, Rev. Lester Doherty of Bridgewater and Richard P. Doherty of Hartsville, SC; two sisters, Shirley A. Huntington of Oxford and Beverly J. Doherty of Wilton, NH; six grandchildren, Kristi Stout, John O'Neill, Laurel Aviles, Erik Osterberg, Heather Freeman, and Dylan Freeman; several great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two daughters, Bonnie Lee Blanding and Phyllis J. O'Neill, predeceased her. She was born in Nashua, NH, daughter of Henry A. and Sarah (Lewis) Doherty, and lived in Worcester since 1943. She also lived in Grafton and Oxford. She graduated from South High School and attended Girls' Trade School.

Mrs. Blanding was a customer service representative for Store 24 for seven years, retiring in 1993. She was the most loving Nana in the world. She was loved by all. Elaine's family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to all her friends at Green Hill Towers.

A funeral service will be held Monday, September 8 at 10:00 am at RICE FUNERAL HOME, 300 Park Ave. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Sunday, September 7 from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

We only found out yesterday (10/3/08) that *Nana* Elaine had passed away. We'll treasure the memories of her and Nana/Nanny Nancy together at birthday parties, holidays, etc.
