Vivian B. Lamontagne

Vivian B. (Gaumond) Lamontagne, 84, of Maria Ave. and formerly of Woodycrest Ave., died Friday at UMass Memorial Healthcare/Worcester. Her husband was the late Alfred E. "Bisac" Lamontagne, who died June 10, 1999. She is survived by her son, David and his wife Darlene Lamontagne of Dudley, and 2 granddaughters: Tara Probeck of Franklin and Kristin Lamontagne of Boston. She also leaves a brother, Emerie Gaumond and a sister, Lucille Gauthier both of Southbridge, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Gaumond and a sister, Lucille Lariviere.

Born in Southbridge, daughter of Eugel and Delia (Parenteau) Gaumond, she graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1942. She was a member of Notre Dame Church, the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality, Harrington Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a Cub Scout Den mother for many years. Mrs. Lamontagne was the former supervisor for Greater Media Cable for 11 years, retiring in 1980, due to illness.

The funeral will be Tuesday, Sept. 9th, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., (handicap from Edward St.) Southbridge with a Mass at 11AM at Notre Dame Church, 446 Main St., Southbridge. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9:00-10:30AM at the funeral home, prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Notre Dame Church Restoration Fund, 61 Marcy St., Southbridge, MA 01550.
