Helen Mendys Obituary

Helen Mendys, 90, died Monday, Sept. 8 at Autumn Village.

Her husband Joseph T. Mendys died in 1977. Her son Jeffrey Mendys died in 1998. She leaves a son, Mitchell Mendys of New Hampshire; a daughter, Marsha A. Mendys of Worcester; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her sisters, Frances M. Poirier and Beatrice Courtney also predeceased her.

Helen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Simon and Eva Janusauskas.

She was a very spiritual person who loved the outdoors. Her love for nature made long walks one of her passions. Her favorite hobby was gardening, especially flowers, although she could grow anything.

Helen's family would like to thank everyone at Autumn Village for their compassionate care during her long stay there.

Funeral services are private. After cremation, her ashes will be scattered in the great outdoors in the kind of place she loved the most.

The Athy Memorial Home, Worcester, is directing arrangements.
