Michael Bodinizzo Obituary

Michael A. Bodinizzo, 80, of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday September 9, 2008 surrrounded by his family in the Millbury Healthcare Center. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Theresa (Sasso) Bodinizzo; a son, Vincent M. Bodinizzo and his wife April of Holden; three daughters, Mary Hicks and her husband Millard of Worcester, Angela Gordish of Millbury, and Terry Ward and her husband Christopher also of Millbury; nine grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Bodinizzo and his wife Gloria; four sisters, Mary Tomasiello, Frances Walkowiak, Theresa Parretti and her husband Robert, and Annette Pellegrino; and many nephews and nieces. Michael was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and John Bodinizzo.

Michael was born in Worcester son of the late Pasquale and Nicoletta (Cappabianca) Bodinizzo and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Commerce High School. Michael served in the United States Air Force during WWll and was recalled to enlist during the Korean conflict. Michael was a Mason for the Local # 6 Union of Bricklayers for many years before he retired. Mike was a life member of Our Lady Of Mt.Carmel-St Ann Church, and was a member of the former Victor Quaranta Post in Shrewsbury, and the Local #6 Bricklayers Union. He enjoyed playing cards, working around his home and spending time with his family. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Michael's funeral will be held Friday September 12, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday (tonight). Entombment will be in St. Johns Cemetery Mausoleum.
