Nancy Lorusso Obituary

Nancy (Kolofsky) Lorusso, 60, of Rutland, died peacefully on Sunday September 14th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after an illness. Nancy was born in Worcester on July 27, 1948 to the late Charles and Helen Kolofsky of Auburn. She had two brothers, Robert Kolofsky and the late Charles J. "Cookie" Kolofsky. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Lorusso and the stepmother of Larry Lorusso.

Nancy is survived by her brother Robert Kolofsky and his wife Lois of Sutton; her sister-in-law Joan Kolofsky of Clearwater, FL. She leaves two nieces, Carrie Kolofsky of Putnam, CT, and Chella Roosa of Tarpon Springs, FL, and five nephews, David Kolofsky of Oxford, Chris Kolofsky of Vinalhaven, ME, Sean Kolofsky of Sutton, Darren Kolofsky of Southside, TN, and Ryan Kolofsky of Clearwater, FL. She also leaves grand-niece Cali Kolofsky and grand-nephew Kyle Kolofsky of Oxford.

Nancy grew up in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School. She worked in the banking industry for 25 years, and later worked for the Devereux School in Rutland for over nine years. She lived in Rutland for 35 years. Nancy enjoyed working in her garden, visiting her family, and caring for her animals. She enjoyed the simple things in life, and was never too busy to spend time with her loved ones.

Nancy was particularly appreciative of the staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham & Women's Hospital, who were so generous and caring, and who always went above and beyond for her. She was equally grateful for the dedicated workers at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home who treated her with such special care. Nancy spent her last days surrounded by family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

There are no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115-6084. Arrangements under the care of the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn.

Nancy was a really good friend. I worked at Worcester County National Bank in the 70's with her and again in the early 90's at PFPC in Westboro. Nancy and I shared many good times together and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. With sincere sympathy.
