Patricia DeGaetano Obituary

Patricia S. (Powers) DeGaetano, 74, of Worcester passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 16th 2008.

Patricia was born in Worcester on July 14th in 1934, a daughter of James and Louise Powers and has lived here all her life. She is survived by her children, Gina M. Cosenza and her husband Peter with whom she lived, Paula Alano and her husband Peter, Robert DeGaetano, Jr. and his wife Christine; three grandchildren, Erica and Elizabeth DeGaetano, and Christopher Alano; four brothers, James Powers, Jr., Frederick, Larry, and Dennis Powers and his wife Carol. Patricia was a good natured and quiet person, friend and mother, who enjoyed movies and dining out and most especially summers in Maine.

The funeral will be held Friday, September 19th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours to visit with the family Thursday, September 18th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts Street, Suite 450, Newton, MA 02458.

Paula and family,

Although I haven't seen Mrs. DeGaetano since I was little, she was a wonderful and loving woman. She treated me like a second Mom.

Sorry for the loss of Bobby's mother. Losing a parent is so very hard. I find it difficult to even think about. You may not remember me but we worked at Paul Revere together so many years ago(cat lady).
