Edith Richards Obituary

Edith M. (Ceder) Richards, 97, formerly of 41 Carlisle St., died Sunday Sept. 14 in Knollwood Nursing Center.

Her husband, Ralph C. Richards, died in 1982. She leaves a son, Carlton C. Richards of Worcester; a daughter, Gail M. Dow of Lewiston, Me.; one granddaughter, Laurie Ann Armstrong of Old Orchard Beach, Me.; 2 great grandsons; and one sister, Gertrude Harwood of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born in Worcester, daughter of John and Anna O. (Grahn) Ceder, she was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church where she was former chairman of the Board of Deaconesses, secretary of the Women's Assn., member of the Finance, and Christian Social Relations Committee. She was a past president of the May St. School P.T.A., and past chairman Worcester Council of P.T.A.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m Saturday Sept. 20 in Davis Chapel of First Baptist Church, 111 Park Ave. Burial in Worcester Co. Memorial Park will be at a later date. Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m Friday Sept. 19 in CASWELL-KING FUNERAL HOME, 474 Grove St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 111 Park Ave., Worcester 01609.
