Roland Gaudette Obituary

Roland D. "Blackie" Gaudette, 91, of Howe Village, died Thursday, Sept. 18 at Quaboag on the Common in W. Brookfield.

He leaves his wife of 28 years, Barbara J. (Krause) Gaudette; two sons, Donald R. Gaudette and his wife Dee of Spencer, William A. Gaudette of Spencer; a sister, Jeannette Bousquet of Spencer; a granddaughter, Stephanie Gaudette of Leicester; a step-son, Francis Marderosian and his wife Rita of Spencer; 3 step-grandchildren, Jefferey Goodrow and his wife Maureen, John Goodrow and his wife Heather and Kevin Marderosian and his wife Lori; 6 step-great-grandchildren, Meagan, Zachary & Matthew Marderosian and Jacob, Jarod & Jackson Goodrow who he loved very much; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Leon "Chill" Gaudette.

Mr. Gaudette was born in Spencer, son of Edward J. and Gertrude (Felix) Gaudette. He was a Game Warden with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Police for 30 years retiring in 1977. He served in the United States Army during WW II in Europe. He was a member of the Gaudette-Kirk Post 138 American Legion Spencer, and a life member of the Spencer Fish and Game Club. He was an avid sport fisherman and commercial fisherman fishing for scallops and clams while he lived in Chatham, MA from 1975-2005.

At his request there are no services or calling hours planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tri-Valley Elder Services, 251 Main Street, Webster, MA 01570. J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is handling arrangements.

To all our friends, neighbors, relatives,and law enforcement officers. Thank you so much for your kind words, cards and kindness. Dad was a special person, who enjoyed people and life.
