Blance Szlyk Obituary

Blance B. (Jankowski) Szlyk, 90, of Worcester, died Thursday Sept. 18, 2008 in her home.

Her husband, Joseph W. Szlyk died in 1993.

She leaves two daughters, Christine C. Stebbins and Joanne E. Szlyk both of Worcester; three grandchildren, Bridget Vazquez, Stephen Beauregard and Stephanie Beauregard; eight great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Michael, Lee, Sara and Charlie Vazquez, Victoria and Joseph Rychwalski and Makayla Condos; one great great-grandson, Jeffrey Mancini III; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Carol Pepin and Joseph Rychwalski. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Paul and Pauline (Kisielewska) Jankowski and lived here all her life.

Mrs. Szlyk was an office worker many years ago for The Bell Co., and then for the American Steel & Wire Co. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Blanche was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and its Women's Guild.

The funeral will be held on Monday September 22 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday September 21 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Memorial Fund, 34 Ward St, Worcester, Ma., 01610.
