Katherine C. (Delaney) (Tappin) Goodwin, 88, of Venice, FL and Webster, MA formerly of Boylston, MA passed away on September 19, 2008. Katherine, Kay, Kitty, Kit was a loving Mother, Wife and friend. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert W. Tappin and her second husband, Clinton B. Goodwin.
She leaves three sons, Robert "Mike" Tappin and his wife Donna of Spencer, MA, Matthew W. Tappin and his wife Maryellen of Woodstock, CT and William S. Tappin and his wife Debi of Webster, MA; her brother, William Delaney and his wife Nola of Winchendon, MA; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Katherine was born on August 31, 1920, the youngest of nine children, and grew up in South Ashburnham, MA. She was a graduate of the Cushing Academy and the Heywood School of Nursing. Katherine worked many years as an R.N. at several local hospitals and also for the American Red Cross.
Katherine was a musician and enjoyed playing the organ and piano. Katherine was a fabulous cook and hosted many international guests in her home. She also was extremely talented in artwork and craftwork.
The family of Katherine would like to thank all the staff at the TCU Hubbard Hospital and AllegianceHospice for the care, comfort, understanding and devotion to our Mother in her final days. We are truly grateful.
A ceremony and burial will take place in Venice, Florida. Information can be found at and condolences can be made at www.lemonbayfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations/contributions can be made in Katherine's name to the TCU at Hubbard Regional Hospital, 340 Thompson Road, Webster, MA 01570.
