Susan Tontonoz Obituary

Susan Gallagher Tontonoz, 69 of Salisbury, MD, died Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD.

Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn Dow Gallagher.

Mrs. Tontonoz had an AB Degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Salisbury, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Friday Prayer Fellowship. She was a school teacher in Worcester, MA and Needham, MA. She also was executive secretary for the Dean of Widner Law School in Wilmington, DE, an executive secretary to the president for the Sisters of Mercy in Windham, NH and was an administrative assistant for the past 18 years for the vice president of Student Affairs at Salisbury University, retiring in 2005.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Rev. Dr. David C. Tontonoz; three sons: Dr. Peter Tontonoz of Los Angeles, CA, Scott Tontonoz of Salisbury and Matthew Tontonoz of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers-n-law, James Tontonoz of Reston, VA and Michael Tontonoz and his wife, Terry of Myrtle Beach, SC.

A Requiem Eucharist will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 10 AM at St. Peters Episcopal Church. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the Harrington Room at the Parish Hall of the church. Father Gordon Morrison and Bishop James Shand will officiate. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery.
