Eleanor M. Maitland

Eleanor M. (Blake) Maitland, 64, died Monday, September 22, 2008 at Leominster Hospital after a brief illness.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty five years, C. Richard Maitland, who died in 2007. She is survived by three daughters, Robyn Perry and her husband Michael of Fitchburg; Kim Kovac and her husband Peter of Clinton; and Dinah Carlson of Lancaster. She leaves three loving grandchildren, Kimberly Kovac, Rosamond Carlson, and Travis Perry; two brothers, Dean Blake and Ronald Blake, both of TX; two sisters, Dawn Russell of TX; and Roberta Blake of NY; a sister-in-law, Virginia Stageman and her husband Paul of Stow; and several nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by three brothers, Gary, Edwin and Eugene Blake.

Eleanor was born in Oneonta, New York to the late Harry and Barbara (Skiff) Blake. She was raised in Haverhill, MA, attended Haverhill High School, and attained her GED from Clinton schools. She held employment with both the former Van Brode Company and later Amery Plastics Company prior to her retirement from the former ITT Suprenant Company in Clinton after seventeen years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Clinton. Eleanor enjoyed arts and crafts, jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Funeral services are to be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton.  Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Lancaster.
