Rosalie Bohdiewicz Obituary

Rosalie T. (Trzcinski) Bohdiewicz, 84, of Worcester, died peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at home after a short illness.

She leaves her husband of 54 years, John J. Bohdiewicz, a retired Shrewsbury school principal; four children: John A. Bohdiewicz and his wife Susan of Oakham, Dr. Paul J. Bohdiewicz and his wife Ronda of Bloomfield, Michigan, Maryanne R. Sabat and her husband John of Merrimack, N.H. and Dr. Francis X.J. Bohdiewicz of Malden; four grandchildren: Sean and Andrea Bohdiewicz, and Tesia and Joseph Sabat; a sister, Cecile Tirella of Worcester; a brother-in-law, Walter Bohdiewicz; a sister-in-law, Catherine Bohdiewicz; and eight nephews and nieces: Tommy, Velvet, Joseph, Rosalie, Theresa, Stephanie, Michael and Mary Ellen.

Her sister, Stephanie Tetrault; her brother, Stanley Trent; and her brother-in-law, Stanley Bohdiewicz predeceased her.

Mrs. Bohdiewicz was born in Dudley, daughter of Joseph and Rosalie (Gnoza) Trzcinski. She lived in Worcester most of her life. She attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Girls Trade High School. She also took business courses at Commerce High School.

Many years ago, she managed the residence for the Bishop of Springfield, Most. Rev. Thomas M. O'Leary.

Mrs. Bohdiewicz had many interests throughout her life. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the St. Mary's School Chorus and the Girls Trade Glee Club. She played basketball during her school years. She was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed reading and gardening. She was active for many years in the Thorndyke Road School PTA.

Rosalie was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish. She was a beloved and loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.

Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Friday, Sept. 26, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 27 from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester. Most Rev. George E. Rueger will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
