T. Lorraine Twomey

T. Twomey Obituary

T. Lorraine (Pomer) Twomey, 75, of Yarmouthport died Sunday Sept. 28, 2008. She was the wife of Edmund D. Twomey for 56 years. Born in Leominster, Mrs. Twomey was raised and educated in Worcester and Everett. She was an honor graduate from Everett High School. Mrs. Twomey worked as a devoted office manager for Dr. Robert Creeden, D.M.D. in Dennis for 20 years. She had previously worked for the Worcester School Dept. A member and past president of the Yarmouthport Friday Club, Mrs. Twomey was also a volunteer at the Sandwich Glass Museum and a longtime member of the Young at Heart exercise group at the Yarmouth Senior Center. Mrs. Twomey was an avid bridge player and enjoyed knitting and sewing.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Twomey is survived by a daughter, Denise of Salem, NH; a son, James and his wife, Elaine of North Andover; a brother, John of Everett; five grandchildren, Kris, Kate, Michael, Meghan and Stephanie; two nieces, Theresa Cataldo of Wilmington and Roberta Correale of Everett; and several other nieces and nephews including, Nicole, Casey, Maryann and Michelle. She was predeceased by a sister, Maryann Cook.

Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday October 2 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, Summer St., Yarmouthport. Interment will follow at 12:45 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 1 in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to The Friday Club, P.O. Box 151, Yarmouthport, MA 02675.

Our sincere sympathy to Ed, Denise, Jim and all the family.

Words cannot express our sadness in hearing that Lorraine had passed away. We had so many good, good times together that we shall never forget. Lorraine was such a wonderful, caring, and hospitable lady. We feel blessed that we had the good fortune to have Lorraine and Ed as our good friends. We will dearly miss you, Lorraine.
