Anna Oliveri Obituary

Anna M. (Toscano) Oliveri, 87, of Worcester passed away peacefully Thursday, October 30th in the Umass Memorial Healthcare Memorial Campus after a long illness.

Anna's husband of 57 years, Gasper M. "Scoops" Oliveri, passed away in 1999. She is survived by her devoted sons, Nicholas E. Oliveri, his wife Pam and their children, Mark P., Christopher J., Jennifer Oliveri and Kirsten Howe; Paul M. Oliveri and his son Nicholas Gasper Oliveri with whom she lived; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Anna was born July 21st 1921, one of ten children of Antonio and Josephine (Martino) Toscano and has lived here all her life.

Anna worked as a teenager, owned and operated as an adult and continued part time as a retiree of Toscano's Market on Shrewsbury St.

She was a former member of St, Margaret Mary Church. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who worked hard for her family and her store customers, cherishing the moments, laughs and time she shared with them.

Anna's funeral will be held Monday, November 3rd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Entombment will be in St. John Mausoleum. Friends and family are invited to visit with the family; Sunday, November 2nd from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Lodge, 7 Oak St. Worcester or the American Heart Association 30 Speen St. Framingham, 01701.

I'll never forgert Anna at the Deli counter every Saturday morning, offering good eats and good advice, even when she had laryengitis and couldn't talk, that didn't stop her! I bet she is now talking God's ear off!
