Robert Mallon Obituary

Robert J. "Bob" Mallon, 61, of 9 North Common St. died Saturday, November 1, 2008 in Quaboag on the Common. He leaves his daughter, Beth A. Mallon of North Brookfield; three sisters, Frances A. Befford & her husband Gene, Elaine M. Emery & her husband Thomas all of North Brookfield and Alice Gilman of Warren; many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by a sister Claire McQuaid and a brother David "Bo" Mallon. Bob was born in Ware the son of the late John & Adela (Lemieux) Mallon and graduated from North Brookfield High School. He was a lifelong resident here and was once involved with the Boy Scouts reaching the highest attainable rank of Eagle Scout. Bob worked at Worcester State College with the campus Police. He was a member of St. Josephs Church and the Knights of Columbus. Bob's greatest love was his daughter, family and North Brookfield.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., N. Brookfield. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Josephs Church, 296 Main St. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the St. Josephs Renovation Fund, 28 Mt. Pleasant St. or to the North Brookfield Rescue Squad, P.O Box 73, N. Brookfield, MA 01535.

Beth, Elaine and all of Bob's family - I was saddened to hear of Bob's death this past weekend. I am happy I was able to see him in the spring. He was a courageous man, who always showed a positive attitude. He was a devoted father, brother and friend to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed. Gary, Travis, Lindsey and I send our love and prayers.

Elaine and Beth, I was so sorry to hear about Bob, I really enjoyed talking to him when he came into the office. He was truly a very courageous person and I know now he rests peacefully with the Angels,please take comfort in the fact that he suffers no more and that he is only a memory away.God Bless you and your family in this hard time.
