Winifred Snider Obituary

Winifred (Bernstein) Snider, 85, of Portland, Maine, formerly of Worcester, died at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Sunday, Nov. 2nd.

Her husband of 47 years, Jack M. Snider died in 1991. She leaves two sons, Judge Neil G. Snider and his wife Diana of Worcester and Ronald L. Snider and his wife Barbara of Eastham, MA; three daughters, Nancy E. Snider of Honolulu, Hawaii, Elizabeth A. wife of Dr. Alex Hutcheon of Falmouth, ME and Sarajane wife of Chai Angsuvarnsiri of Bangkok, Thailand; a brother, William Bernstein and his wife Marjorie of Worcester; a sister, Florence Mandel of Boca Raton, FL; eleven grandchildren, Jared M. Snider, Dara L. Snider, Caitlin E. Snider, Alex M. Snider, Julie R. Snider, Joy Angsuvarnsiri, Meri Angsuvarnsiri, Mandy Angsuvarnsiri, Jeremy Angsuvarnsiri, Matthew J. Hutcheon and Sarah B. Hutcheon; one great granddaughter, Ally Amarin and many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester and was a daughter of Max and Sophie (Kaplan) Bernstein and lived in Worcester for 78 years before moving to Portland in 2000.

She graduated from Commerce High School and from Salter Secretarial School.

She was an active member of Mount Pleasant Country Club and was a member of B'Nai Brith Women and the Sisterhoods of Beth Israel Synagogue and Temple Emanuel.

The family wishes to acknowledge the staff and her many dear friends at The Atrium Residences in Portland, Maine and the medical professionals who took such loving care of her.

She enjoyed traveling, dancing and cooking. She also enjoyed spending her summers with her children and grandchildren in Hyannis.

She was a loving wife and mother and dedicated her life to her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH in Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main St. Burial will be in B'Nai Brith Cemetery.

Memorial Observance will be held through Thursday Evening, November 6th at the residence of William and Marjorie Bernstein, 389 Salisbury St.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dear Cousins,
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Aunt Wini. She will always be remembered as a beautiful women both inwardly and outwardly and I will forever cherish the times spent with her and the loving conversations we exchanged.
