Robert Fisher Obituary

Robert N. Fisher, 82 formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away at Sterling Health Care Center on Friday, November 7th after an illness.

Bob is survivied by his loving wife of 60 years, Beverly Shepard Fisher, a daughter, Beth Gabrielli of Warren, VT, and a son, Steven Fisher and his wife, Jill of Holden. Bob was known as "Papa" to 5 grandchildren, Amy, Becky, Sam, Emily, and Haley and had 3 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Brenda Coughlin, of Houston, TX, predeceased him.

Bob was born in Toledo, OH, the son of the late Daniel and Ruth Fisher. He had 3 brothers, Jerry, Richard and Danny.

Bob travelled the world as a Merchant Marine through WWII and after. He lived in Shrewsbury for 0ver 57 years working in the transportation business including F&H Transportation.

Bob loved to putter around his Wilder Road home, grew fantastic tomatoes, sailed throughout the Carribean and enjoyed wonderful times with family and friends.

Visting hours will be Tuesday, November 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. in the funeral home. A service will be held Wednesday, November 12 at 10 A.M. in the Howard C. Allen Funeral Home, 653 Main St.

Our prayers go up for the Fisher, Coughlin and Gabrielli families. On this Veterans Day, we should take time to remember the humble heros that served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.
