Alfred Marshall Obituary

Alfred H. Marshall, 80, of Sayles St., died Sat., Nov. 8, at Milford Regional Medical Center.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Rosemary (Creighton) Marshall; he was the loving father of Michael Marshall of Bellingham, John Marshall of Douglas, Eileen Sestito of Franklin and Kathleen Marshall of Woonsocket, R.I.; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; sister Doris McCourt of Northbridge and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond, Oliver and Fredrick Marshall and his sister, Loretta Trottier.

Born on March 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Oliver and Florence (McDonald) Marshall and has lived in Uxbridge all of his life. Alfred was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and was the Past Commander of the Charles A. Rice American Legion Post 33 of Uxbridge. Mr. Marshall worked for 27 years at the Draper Corp. in Hopedale and retired from Guilford Industries in Douglas. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge. Alfred enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman.

His funeral will be held on Wed., Nov. 12 from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 71 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Tues., Nov. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m.

My deepest sympathies on the passing of Mr. Marshall. It was my pleasure to know him both as a friend's father and a co-worker at Guilford.

I remember him going fishing before going to work and seeing him ride his bicycle.

He will be missed.
