Eleanor Meany Obituary

Eleanor M. (Madden) Meany, 91 of 19 Grant St., died Monday, Nov. 10 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness. She was the wife of John H. Meany, MD. who died in 1987. She leaves her sister Mary E. Madden of Spencer with whom she lived, two nephews William Madden of Lake Wylie, SC., and Michael Madden of Edmonds, Wa., grand nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Meany was a registered nurse having worked alongside her husband in his doctor's office in Keene, N.H., for 40 years, before retiring in 1985. She was born in Spencer, the daughter of William J. and Ellen (Dempsey) Madden and lived in Keene, before returning to Spencer in 2005. She graduated from David Prouty High School and the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Memorial Mass at 11a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. A calling hour will precede the Mass on Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Drewsville Cemetery, Walpole, N.H. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish Food Pantry, 60 Maple St., Spencer, Ma. 01562.
