Florence Schneider Obituary

Florence (Gifford) Schneider, 89, of Woffard Heights, CA passed away peacefully on November 10, 2008 in a California nursing home. Flo leaves her partner and best friend, William Hicks; two daughters, Judy Benoit and husband Ron Benoit of Bodfish, CA and Carol Carr and husband Richard Carr of Ware, MA. She also leaves four brothers and two sisters, eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. One brother and three sisters predeceased her.

Our mother had a very full and good life. She loved her golf and bowling. She made a very strong attempt to beat Alzheimer's and cancer, but they won. Now she is in Heaven, where she can be at peace with her first husband, George Gifford. We will always miss her love, hugs and kisses, but she is now at peace.

There will be a memorial service in early December in California with another memorial service next spring in Massachusetts. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th floor, New York, NY 10001.

Flo is my great grandmother and she will be missed terribly. I never really got a chance to spend a lot of time with her since she lived so far from me, but the times I did have with her will never be forgotten. We love you and will miss you!

Flo was a dear friend to my mother, Anne White, sharing time at Country Clubs around the Worcester area. Mom's first plane trip was to California to visit with Flo back in the 1960's. Flo was always loving to my sister & me. May she rest in peace!
