Katherine R. Richards

Katherine R. (Kramer) Richards, 94, formerly of 76 Chase St., died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, in Sudbury Pines Extended Care Center, Sudbury, following an illness. Her husband of 36 years, Oscar J. Richards, Jr., died in 1970.

She leaves two sons, Donald J. and his wife, Jeanette A. Richards of Hudson, and Michael R. and his wife, Sharon Richards of Ashuelot, NH; a daughter, Katherine A. and her husband BJ Benton, of Clearwater, TX; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Kramer, and three sisters, Helen Swift, Margaret Gregory, and Gladys Lovett.

Katherine was born in Lynn, daughter of Frederick L. and Annie E. (Vaughn) Kramer, and lived in Clinton most of her life, before moving to Hudson in 1982. She attended Clinton schools.

For ten years, she worked as an assembler at the former Ray-O-Vac Co. of Clinton, retiring in 1978.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Clinton, and St. Michael's Church, Hudson, the Hudson Senior Citizens, and the Holy Rosary Sodality.

Katherine's funeral will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 1 Cross St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2008, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Katherine's memory to Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 1 Cross St., Clinton, MA 01510, or Resident Council Fund c/o Sudbury Pines Extended Care Center, 642 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776.
