Robert Durost Obituary

Robert E. Durost Sr., 85, husband of the late Ella M. (Argraves) Durost, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at his Fort Fairfield residence.

He was born March 23, 1923 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Charles W. and Millie A. (Everett) Durost. He was married to Ella M. Argraves on November 3, 1945. Robert and Ella were residents of Sterling, MA for over thirty-five years. Bob was employed by the Heald Machine Corporation of Worcester, MA for over thirty years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ella on December 15, 2006 and is survived by two sons, Robert E. Durost Jr. and his wife Susan of Lancaster, MA, Wayne D. Durost of Limestone, Maine; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Orin and Phyllis Durost of Mill Hall, PA, Arnold and Muriel Durost of Presque Isle; 1 sister, Alice Durost of Fort Fairfield; five grandchildren, Susanne Durost Tremblay of Belleview, WA, Sandra Durost of Huberston, MA, Melanie Durost, Robert E. Durost III and Ronnie Durost, all of Lancaster, MA; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2008 at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 166 Main Street, Fort Fairfield with the Rev. Dr. Robert Smith officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the funeral service.

Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Durost to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 737, Fort Fairfield, Maine 04742. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
