Ivon Arsenault Obituary

Ivon J. Arsenault, 80, passed away Fri., Nov. 14, peacefully at home.

He leaves his wife of 58 years, Madeleine (Manseau) Arsenault; his children, Normand of Holden, James of Amherst, John of Webster and Maureen of Wenham; nine grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Camille of Gardner, Albertine Collette of Gardner, Lionel of Baldwinville and Joseph of Baldwinville; he also leaves Eveline Bureaugard of Templeton.

Ivon worked for over 36 years at Norton Company-Plant 8 in Worcester. He was also a sergeant in the United States Army, stationed in Churchill, Manitoba. He enjoyed working in his tomato garden, umpiring little league games, doing crossword puzzles, shoveling snow, and spending time with his family.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Mon., Nov. 17, from 6-8 PM at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St., A Memorial Mass will be held on Tues., Nov. 18, at 10 AM in St. Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anatomical Gift Program at UMASS Medical School, 55 Lake Ave. No., Worcester, 01655. To place an on-line condolence, please visit

I became friends with Ivon at the Greendale YMCA. We had great talks walking in the shallow swimming pool, and I learned that he was a true gentleman, a most gracious and decent man. I will miss him.
