Dear Zach, I can't imagine the pain your mother and you are going through this week. Alec must have been a lucky person to have a nephew like you. He was a good bowler. Your uncle will always be in your heart.

Tonight is bowling night ,and for Benjamin and me, it will be a sad night indeed. No one has a smile like Alec. He could light up a room. We will miss him.

Alec exemplified amazing amounts of generosity, love, and kindness to everyone he knew, especially his family. Always with camera in hand, taking pictures of those he loved and cared about was a treasure to him and an especially sweet and loving memory. We will love and miss him always. May he now be in peace at home with Auntie Alice and Uncle Johnny. Our deepest love and sympathy, Christyne, Matthew, and Gregory

I'll spend the rest of my life digesting and practicing what my brother taught me. It won't be easy and I will make many mistakes again I'm sure.He was selfless and instantly forgiving. He held everyone in his life very dear to him. Everyone was a sacred being to him and deserving of respect. And if he thought we were'nt trying to hold to these principles there would be hell to pay. May we work honestly towards them and celebrate his life.He was and still is as my sister Shari has said "Our moral compass".

You got me in trouble a few times growing up. But you always had a great smile and laugh that I will never forget.

Alec grew up down around the corner from me and I remember playing with him, his niece and I think another relative. What I remember most is playing 'King of The Mountain' with him and the other kids in the neighborhood. He was at least five years older than us and also very much stronger. He'd toss us off the hill and we wouldn't even roll down the hill, but just end up a crumpled, crying mess at the bottom of the hill. It was fun at the time, and I still have fond memories of it for some reason. Even when five of us charged at him together, we'd end up at the bottom of the hill. He was a good guy, though I haven't seen him much in recent years. I'll always remember him though, standing at the top of the hill, arms above his head, shouting at the top of his lungs about how he was king of the mountain. I'll keep him in my prayers.
