Lois Shea Obituary

Lois (Carpenter) Shea, 88, formerly of Shrewsbury, MA, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, MA. Her husband of 42 years, John Monroe Shea, died in 1986. She leaves a son, Scott Carter Shea of Thompson, CT, a grandson, four granddaughters, two great grandsons, a great granddaughter and a sister, Millicent Wettstein of Shelburne, Vermont. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lorea Shea Brinck and a grandson.

Lois was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Clovis and Mildred (Carver) Carpenter. She was a teacher in the Shrewsbury Schools for 25 years and graduated from Bridgewater State Teachers College. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, its Fellowship, Naomi Circle, Prime Timers, NEA, MTA Retired, AARP, NRTA Division, Shrewsbury Garden Club and a life member of The National Society of Old Plymouth Colony Descendants as well as the Huguenot Society of Oxford, MA.

Private graveside services will be held at Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam, CT at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA is directing arrangements.

I am so sorry to see Lois's death in the paper. She was one of my favored residence at Chistopher Hieghts of Webster when I was the activity director there. She was a very sweet lady. You have my sympathy.
