Susan Shea Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 27, 2026.
Susan Marie Shea, 72, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 10, 1953, in Malden, Mass, the first-born daughter to Edward F. and Mary E. Shea.

Susan was pre-deceased by her siblings: John Shea, Nancy Nastasia and Bobby Shea.

Susan is survived by her brother, Michael Shea of Maine, Sister Rosemary Phoenix and her husband Keith, Sister Jean Curran and her husband Kerrin, Sister-in-law Karen (Ford) Shea, and Brother-in-law Richard Nastasia, all of Plymouth, Mass.

Also, survived by her devoted nieces and nephews: Joshua and Molly Phoenix, Amanda Nastasia, Casey and Michael Shea, and Nolan Curran.

Also survived by her beloved cousins and her Bestie Deirdre (McKenna) Bersani.

After graduating from North Quincy High School, Susan started her career at the New England Telephone Company. Where she worked for over 30 years before retiring. Following her retirement, she had a second act working at the 1620 Hotel in Plymouth for several years.

In her younger years, Suzy loved to travel. Ireland, Canada, and Florida, just to name a few of her favorite destinations

Oh, how she loved her music, movies, and her "shows."

We believe that Suzy singlehandedly kept QVC on the air for decades!

One of her favorite hobbies was decorating her home. For all the seasons. To the absolute delight of her family, friends, and neighbors.

One of her many talents was crocheting; she made blankets, hats, and scarves for her family, friends, and many for the Veterans and the Homeless community.

Sue was known for her kind and generous nature, her love for animals and people alike.

Especially the love for her family and her wide circle of friends.

Her life was devoted to helping others in need, spearheading the Head Start Christmas Toy Drive for over 10 years.

Due to her infectious personality, every stranger she met became a new friend.

Suzy was the curator of all the family history and stories; she knew it all!

She was the heart of the family.

Her baking was legendary! Delicious treats were her specialty.

Suzy will be greatly missed for her kindness, love, wonderful sense of humor, and her beautiful sense of style. Her compassion and empathy for all walks of life. Including all of God's little creatures.

A devout Catholic, she spread love and joy wherever she went

.

In honor of Susan's request, there will be no formal services. She will be cremated, and a celebration of her fabulous life will follow later.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local Animal Shelter.
