Thanasi Natsis Obituary

Thanasi Natsis, 71, of Leicester, died Friday, November 21st in St. Vincent Hospital, after a five year struggle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Ksanthulla (Mello) Natsis; two sons, Mihalis, and his wife Olga Natsis of Belmar, NJ and Paul Natsis of Leicester; two daughters, Olga, wife of George Konomi of Holden and Vasiliqi, wife of Christos Natsis of Worcester; six grandchildren, Thanasi and Peter Natsis, Persa and Ksenofon Konomi, and Dhimitris and Eleni Natsis; many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was born in Pepeli, Northern Epiros the son of Nicolla and Katerina (Botsolos) Natsis; and came to Leicester in 1994. Mr. Natsis had been employed as a kitchen worker by the Castle Restaurant in Leicester for several years. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral; and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Natsis will be remembered for his strong work ethic and a good friend to all who knew him.

The funeral is Monday, November 24th, from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, November 23rd from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to either St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
