John F. Bentley Jr.

John F. Bentley, Jr., 86, of Pulaski St., died Fri., Nov. 21, at his home.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Gloria M. (Blouin) Bentley; two daughters, Veronica A. Durso and her husband Anthony of Bellingham and Beverly J. Romasco and her husband Dennis of Uxbridge; one granddaughter, Kellie Hanscom and her husband Jason of Uxbridge; 2 great grandchildren, Jesse and Abigail Hanscom of Uxbridge; 2 sisters, Hazel Trainor of Mendon and Constance Driscoll of Whitinsville; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his siblings, Harold, Reginald and Vivian Bentley, Muriel Morin and Rita Heffernan.

Born in Uxbridge, on Dec. 20, 1921 he was the son of the late John F. Sr. and Mary (Murphy) Bentley and has lived in Uxbridge all of his life. He graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1940, where he played baseball and football. John worked at the former Muradian Cleaners for 20 years, and retired from Bay State Abrasives in Westboro in 1987. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge and enjoyed playing pool and dancing.

His memorial funeral service will be held on Fri, Nov. 28, from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. A calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Fri., Nov. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to St. Mary's Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge, MA 01569 or the Uxbridge Ambulance Fund, c/o Uxbridge Fire Dept., 25 South Main St., Uxbridge, MA 01569.
