Grace Anguria Obituary

Grace J. Anguria, 91, of Worcester passed away Fri., Nov. 21, in Notre Dame Long Term Care, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her sister, Alice R. Anguria of Worcester; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A brother, William J. Anguria and three sisters, May F. Jennette, Anne Cravedi and Rita Alexanian predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Angelo and Mary (Testa) Anguria and graduated from Classical High School and Fairchild Business School.

Grace was the head clerk for the Massachusetts Department of Welfare for 42 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the former Ascension Church and its Tuesday Morning Club, the Massachusetts Retired State and County Municipal Employees Assoc., the Guild of Our Lady of Providence and Mechanics Hall.

Visiting Hours are private. Friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Sat., Nov. 29, at 10 AM in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Notre Dame du Lac, 555 Plantation St., or the Venerini Retirement Fund, 23 Edward St., both Worcester, MA 01605. Sincere prayers and sympathy to the Anguria and Cravedi families on the recent death of Grace. She was a wonderful person and was a great friend and help to my mother when they worked in the Welfare Dept. together.
