Dear Uncle Lionel and Cousins Lynn, Jane and Laurie,

It is with deepest sympathy that I express my thoughts to each of you. Losing Aunt Joanne to cancer is a most difficult and painful loss for all of us. As a wife and as a mother, she was an integral part of each of your lives. As an aunt to me, she was a big part of my life too. I cannot remember a single occasion when she was not there to celebrate a family birthday, an anniversary, a graduation, or a first communion. Every time I came home to Webster to visit, I cannot recall a single time when I did not see her. There were countless “porch nights” when you could almost set your clock to her appearance with "Uncle Noone.” She was always there! One word that particularly comes to mind when I think of her is STEADFAST. Steadfast means unwavering, unfaltering, dedicated, unswerving, and committed. That is exactly how I will always remember her. I will always think of her as a wonderful person who never had a bad thing to say about anyone, who never complained about anything, and always wanted the best for her family. It is a personal honor of mine to have an aunt so dear to me. She will always remain in my heart as a special person to me and my family. I know there are probably no words I can say, and nothing I can do to ease your sorrow at this moment. But just know that my family and I will always be here for you.

God bless, and with much love,
Your nephew and cousin,
