Joan Ferguson Obituary

Joan B. (Adams) Ferguson, 72, of Worcester, died Sunday, November 23rd in St. Vincent Hospital.

She leaves her husband, William J. Ferguson; two sons, John W. and his wife Cheryl Spagnola of Athol and Nicholas C. Spagnola and his fiancée Noel Anderson of Worcester; two daughters, Kathleen P. and her husband Larry Bizzotto and Colleen M. and her husband Shaun Eskola all of Leominster; a brother, Richard W. Allen of Meriden, CT; three sisters, Patricia A. Nicholas of Ware, Nancy Barnsley of Manchester, NH and Suzanne Adams of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and John Adams and a granddaughter Nicole Bizzotto.

She was born in Leominster, the daughter of Walter C. Adams and Lucille (Sawyer) Allen. Joan attended the Leominster Public Schools. She was a waitress at Lou Rocs Diner for more than 25 years and previously worked at Green Meadow Lodge in Sterling. She was a skilled seamstress and made many quilts for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was an avid reader.

The funeral is Wednesday, November 26th with a service at 10:00 A.M. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 25th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
