The family of Hunter O'Neill

December 1, 2008

My son Hunter just learned of Guy's passing today, and our family is deeply saddened to think that a man with such a gift for music and teaching has left this earth. Hunter learned a lot from Guy, and idolized his free spirit and devotion to music. His legacy will live on in his pupils, and the other hearts he has touched in his life here on Earth. Your family and loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers.

What do I say Guy? I see your face, I hear your voice; you will always be a part of me. The two of us shared an experience so low and horrible, and helped each other through each day. Day by day, right Guy? You saved me. You changed my world. I wish we had gone to Amherst to open that music studio that we talked about. I wish I had shared just one more coffie with you before chow. I wish I had told you that I loved you, man to man. And I wish I had been there more for you when you needed me most. I'm sorry Guy. I will miss you so. You will always be a part of me, and my prayers go out to you and your family. They were so lucky to have had the time with you that they did. I wiss miss you friend.

Our son took guitar lessons from Guy in Webster. Guy truly had a gift which made his students love to play. He always made our son feel that he could accomplish anything musically. I'm not sure we'll ever find a teacher who can pass his musical passion on to the student as well as Guy could. He will be missed.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Guy. My son and I both took lessons from Guy, we enjoyed jamming with him also. He always spoke highly of his children. It's a sad day! Guy touched alot of people through music. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time. He is up above now, playing his fender with the great ones, and will not suffer any more.

A Friend

November 27, 2008

Dear friends and relatives of Guy,

I don't know about you, but I'm finding it difficult to put my thoughts about this into words. Guy was such a unique individual. Incredibly clever, one of the most amazing senses of humor of anyone I have ever known, with a spiritual depth that I don't think I was ever fully able to understand. He always tried to make us all know how much he cared about us. I'm very sad about his death, but it makes me happy to beleive that Guy has maybe found true peace.

I only knew Guy for the past couple of years.. he taught my son not only how to play his guitar.. he taught him how to have fun with it, how to truely love music and how to just love playing his guitar. We were sad when he couldn't teach anymore and we haven't found a decent teacher since. I also found out through our many conversations after class that we are distant cousins. I am SHOCKED to find out that he is no longer with us and he is very sadly missed. He was a great guy and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family right now!

I met Guy at the YMCA where we both enjoyed swimming laps. Guy was such a great swimmer and person, who encouraged others to swim. I would marvel at his ability to swim a mile during his lunch break. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Still swimming laps.

To the Cormier family,
We only new Guy as a teacher and a Guitar player. His approach and patience with kids made learning fun in a comfortable enviroment. I enjoyed jamming with him at his studio in the evening after my daughter's guitar lessons. He will be missed. May God Bless him.

You will be sorely missed, my friend. You were a great guitar teacher, encourager and confidence booster. I couldn't play like I do now if it weren't for you.
