Rose Girouard Obituary

Rose M. (Girardi) Girouard, 78, of 50 Shrewsbury St. passed away Sunday, November 23rd in St. Vincent Hospital with her family by her side.

Rose is survived by her cherished children, Michael R. Girouard and his wife Rhonda of Millbury, Donna M. D'Elia and her husband Robert of North Oxford, Paula A. Gleason and her husband Robert of Spencer; four adored grandsons, Matthew D'Elia and his wife Kristen, Michael D'Elia, Dan Gleason and Christopher Girouard; two brothers, Leonard Girardi of Auburn and Francis Girardi of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Agnes Marley and Phyllis Schlegel and two brothers, Matteo and Ronald Girardi all pre deceased her. She was born in Worcester; her parents were the late Matteo and Rose (Tritone) Girardi and has lived here all her life. Simple gentle women who enjoyed taking care of her family and other, at onetime worked for Catholic Charities as an overnight supervisor for a community home before retiring.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and socializing with her friends at Mt Carmel Towers.

The funeral will be held Friday, November 28th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be at a later date. A period of visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.

Donna,Paula and Micheal,...I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom, and learned of this too late to attend the wake and funeral. She was such a loving person to everyone, and will be sadly missed. I have the fondest memories to always look back on. My love and condolences to all of you,
