Eleanor Senecal Obituary

Eleanor M. (Barry) Senecal, 83, of 106 Main St., Rutland passed away to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in her home after an illness.

She leaves her husband, Wilfred J. Senecal, with whom she celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in October; a son, William S. Senecal and his wife Ellen of Rutland; Carol Senecal of Madison, Tennessee; three brothers, Joseph Barry and his wife Janet of Westboro, Bernard Barry and his wife Marsha of Cold Springs, Colorado, and John Barry and his wife Rochelle of Worcester; a sister, Mary Asnes of Framingham; four grandchildren, Ryan, Kara, William, and James Senecal; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester the daughter of William J. and Margaret M. (Brophey) Barry and lived four years in Rutland.

Eleanor graduated from St. Peters' High School and worked over ten years at the Bancroft School both in Worcester. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Rutland, and was truly a Christian woman in the way she lived her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her four grandchildren, going to the beach, and indulging in her favorite food, lobster. Eleanor led an exemplary life, loving and generous beyond measure, always ready to lend a helping hand. She had a love for life "taking the bitter with the sweet" and had a terrific sense of humor. No words can express how much she was loved and will be forever missed. Eleanor's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Shelly, Karen, Jill, and Doreen, Eleanor's nurses, for their heartfelt care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 28th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
