Christopher Williams Obituary

Christopher Meader Williams, 52, a man of taste, good humor, and intellect. Mr. Williams, who was a longtime resident of Leominster and Hyannis Port, MA, died suddenly Nov. 22, 2008 in Falmouth, MA.

He was born and raised in Leominster and summered in Hyannis Port, son of the late Barbara Swain Meader Williams and the late Silvio Williams, owner and operator of Fitchburg's first Howdy Beef Burger Restaurant, Whalom Park and Drive-In-Theater. Mr. Williams attended Applewild School in Fitchburg, and graduated from Middlesex School in Concord, where he was a triple-letter varsity athlete and went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was a lifetime entrepreneur.

Mr. Williams was known for his quick wit, keen intellect, and generous spirit. He was as comfortable dining at the local pub as he was dining at the Ritz Carlton in Boston. He was known for his strength of character and kindness of heart. A longtime dog lover, until recently he was inseparable from his dog, the late "Murphy". He loved to cook and was a connoisseur of fine wine. He was an avid sports fan. No game was too big or too small for him to attend.

Mr. Williams is survived by his sister, Kathryn S. Williams and her husband Brant Hardy; his sister, Elizabeth W. Sullivan and her husband Gregory J.; he was the proud uncle of James, Sam, Charlie, and Julia Hardy and Caroline and Macy Sullivan.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 1, at 10:00 A.M. in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, with internment to follow in First Parish Cemetery, No. Easton, MA.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Middlesex School Hockey Program, Concord, Massachusetts or to the local SPCA.

I will always remember working with Chris at the Whalom Drive-in, and Chris playing his Beach Boy music over the drive in speakers. Those were the days, rest in peace

We went to college with Chris at the University of Tennessee. There is not enough space here to share all the great times and laughs we have shared throughout the years. He was one of kind and our much loved best friend. We will miss him so much. Our condolences go out to his family.

I knew Chris from my grandmother Mildred Dupee, she watched him and his sisters and they were her extended family she would go to the Cape and stay with them for months at a time. As I grew older I could always remember my grandmother talking about Chris, he must of have had great Influence on her, because she could never talk about him without a smile on her face. He will sadly be missed, I’m sure my grandmother is once again watching over him. For the Williams Family we pray for you and may god bless all of you.
