Ingeborg Matulis Obituary

Ingeborg "Inge" (Juber) Matulis, 80, of Shrewsbury, died Tuesday, December 2nd in Saint Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Her husband, Pijus Matulis, died in 1991. She is survived by a son, Michael P. Matulis and his partner Sharon Demark of Panama City, Florida; two daughters: Christine Bissonnette and her husband, Paul of Boylston and Arlene Phoenix and her husband William of Shrewsbury; two brothers: Klaus and Horst Juber, both of Germany and a sister, Giesela Fristch of Germany; also survived by 6 grandchildren: Melanie Mascroft, Stefanie O'Clair, Tiffany Duchesneau, Andrew, Eric and Alex Bissonnette; and 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Matulis was born, raised and schooled in Germany, daughter of the late Philipp and Thekla (Birker) Juber and had lived in Shrewsbury for 40 years. She worked as a machinist for Presmet Corp in Worcester for over 20 years, before she retired in 1989.

Inge was a warm, loving, giving, witty woman with a wonderful sense of humor and she also had a special place in her heart for animals. She enjoyed many hobbies including, gardening, knitting, crocheting and cooking for her entire family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Matulis's family on Friday, December 5th from 5-8 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Funeral services for Inge will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 10 A.M. in the First Congregational Church, 10 Church Street, Boylston, MA. Burial will follow in the family lot at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions can be made to the First Congregational Church, 10 Church Street, Boylston, MA 01505 or to the American Diabetes Association, 40 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
