Hugo Friberg Obituary

Hugo Friberg, 91, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Westborough, died on Wednesday, December 4, 2008, at the Venice Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Shirley (Brigham) Friberg, to whom he was married to for 55 years.

Born in Kristinehamn, Sweden, he was the son of the late Carl and Maria (Karlsson) Friberg.

He was educated in Westborough schools and attended Northeastern University.

During World War II he served with the U. S. Army Air Corps.

Mr. Friberg was the owner of Friberg Tool and Dye, Inc. prior to his retirement. He attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a member of Vasa Lodge in Worcester.

Hugo immigrated to the United States in 1928 and lived in Westborough for 57 years moving to Venice, Florida in 1985.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Paul H. Friberg and his wife Andrea of Holden; one daughter, Nancy Friberg DeSante and her husband William of Chatham, NJ; four grandchildren, Sarah Friberg, Jonathan Friberg, Elizabeth DeSante and Christopher DeSante; one niece, Marianne Salah and two nephews, Robert Briggs and Greg Chase.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11, at 11:00 A.M. in the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, December 10 from 6 to 8 P.M.
