Elizabeth Donohue Obituary
Elizabeth (Betty) was born on February 9th, 1922 in Northampton, to William and Katherine (Lucey) Dunn. Betty graduated from Northampton High School and later attended Smith College and Worcester State College.
She worked at the Springfield Armory during World War II where she met her husband, the late Sylvester (Mike) Donohue.
After raising a family, Betty returned to work as a proofreader at Heffernan Press, a substitute teacher, and a clerk for the City of Worcester.
She was active in the PTA of Heard Street School and Our Lady of Angels School. Betty was a founding Board Member of the State Head Injury Program of Massachusetts. She was an excellent advocate for her son, Michael, and other members of the Program. Betty enjoyed her retirement on Cape Cod yet was always available to her children.
Betty leaves her seven children, Timothy and his wife, Anne of Quincy, Susan Simitis and her husband Richard, Peter Donohue and his wife Linda, and Andrew, all of Worcester; Michael from Hyannis, Paul from Dennis and Mark of Holden. She took particular delight in her four grandchildren, Catherine, Matthew, Aileen and Alyssa and her four great grandchildren, Shauna, Kara, Timmy and Will.
The family especially wants to thank the staff at Whitney Place Assisted Living, and Beaumont Nursing Home for their wonderful care and concern for Betty.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Monday, December 8th from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester, on Tuesday, December 9th at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the State Head Injury Program, 27 Wormwood St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02210.

I'll always remember Aunt Betty's warm smile and that she was quick to laugh. I'll remember her kind and generous nature combined with a very quick wit. Every memory of her is a pleasant one. I do miss her.
