Frank Parsons Obituary

Mr. Frank D. Parsons, 90, of Peabody, formerly of Lynn, died Wednesday in North Shore Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Laurel M. (Cleveland) Parsons, who passed away November 15, 2008 after 67 years of marriage.

Frank was Laurel's Rock during her illness, offering her strength and unconditional love. Her passing left a void in his life that nothing could fill. Although our hearts ache, we are consoled by knowing that Frank and Laurel are together, never again to be apart.

Born in Newfoundland, Canada, son of the late Herbert and Irene (Page) Parsons, he was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1936. He attended Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute. He resided in Peabody for six years, previously residing in Lynn, East Dennis, MA, and Worcester. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. as a 2nd Lt. in the 2109th Air Base Unit.

He was employed at the General Electric Co., River Works as a Government Property Administrator for over 43 years until his retirement in 1979.

He was an avid photographer and was a former member of the Odd Fellows.

Frank leaves his devoted daughter, Dawn Spear and her husband Bradford of Amesbury; a sister, Dorothy Tankard of Peabody; two loving grandchildren, Bradford Parsons of Grafton, and Erin Toohil, of Sutton; two great grandchildren, James Toohil, and Shannon Toohil; 4 nieces and a nephew.

He was brother of the late Gerald and Gordon Parsons.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Memorial Service in St. Stephen's Memorial Episcopal Church Friday at 11 AM, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn.

Donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 1 Franklin St., Lynn, MA 01901.
