Charles Bagley Obituary

Charles E. "Chuck" Bagley, 73, of Southborough, died Tuesday evening, December 9, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Cass) Bagley for the last 49 years.

Mr. Bagley was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a manufacturing engineer working in the electronics industry for several companies in the Boston area. He was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Mystic Valley Masonic Lodge. Upon Chuck's retirement in 2000 he became an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to warmer climates, however, his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren playing sports and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Victoria Harding of Grafton, Christopher Bagley and his wife Paula of Scarborough, ME, Arthur Bagley and his wife Julianne of Grayson, GA; a brother, Frank Bagley of NC; 3 sisters, Emma Hall of OH, Elizabeth Bagley of AZ, Sally Holbrook of NH; and 3 grandchildren, Jessica Harding, Emma & Nicholas Bagley.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 3 to 5 PM at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A funeral home service will be held on Monday, Dec. 15, at 11 AM with Fr. Craig Lister, of St. Mark's Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Rural Cemetery in Southborough. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

I too have wonderful memories of Uncle Chuck as someone who ensured we had a fun time when we would visit as children. He later became a friend and mentor through occasional letters and emails. Despite all the teasing, he remains one of my childhood heros. My prayers and best wishes go out to Auntie Joan and the rest of the family at this very difficult time. I'm sorry I can't be there in person, but you will be on my mind and in my heart throughout the next several days and over the next few months that follow. Peace and love, Jeanne

In loving memory of Uncle Chuck. I will always remember that sparkle in his eye and grin on his face that made you wonder what he was up to! I have very fond memories of childhood holidays with Aunt Joan, Uncle Chuck and my cousins that are etched in memory forever. My deepest sympathies to the Bagley family through this difficult time. It's hard to lose such a great, loving man.
