Edgar Blanchette Obituary

Edgar C. Blanchette Jr., 85, of Hudson, died of complications after surgery on Thursday, Dec. 11 at Bolton Manor Nursing Home in Marlboro.

He was the husband of the late Agatha "Tish" (O'Rielly) Blanchette who died in 1985 and father of the late Maureen (Blanchette) Donohue who died in 2003. He is survived by his son, Edgar C. Blanchette III of Northboro and his long time companion, Inta Madden of Hudson.

He was born in Marlboro, son of the late Edgar C. Blanchette Sr. and Stella (Lively) Blanchette-Chagnon and was a life long resident of Marlboro and Hudson. Edgar worked at Johnson-Claflin in Marlboro and the Raytheon Co. in Bedford. In 1955 he became the founder and CEO of Supertron Corporation of Hudson until his retirement.

He served in the U.S. Navy in Guam during WWII. He loved his family and traveling to his homes in Mexico and Florida. He enjoyed gardening and wine making. He was a diehard Red Sox fan and was fortunate enough to see them win two World Series. He was also an avid Patriots fan and got to see them win four Super Bowls. He was a lifetime member of the Hudson Elks and member of the Eagle's and Moose Lodge of Marlboro.

Besides his son and companion, he leaves his grandchildren, Brad Blanchette of Natick, Lindsay (Blanchette) Shomphe of Auburn, Adam Blanchette of Northboro, Kathleen (Donohue) Johnson of Hudson, Christine (Donohue) Kraynack of Maynard and Scott Donohue of Boston. He also leaves his three great grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Dec. 15, from 8:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central St., Hudson, MA 01749 prior to the Mass.

In My Pocket
