Dorothy Briggs Obituary

Dorothy S. Briggs, 100, died December 7, 2008, at her home. She lived with her daughter in Jensen Beach, FL and in Shrewsbury during the summers. She retired from Norton Company.

She was born in Worcester and lived in Shrewsbury until moving to Florida in 1978.

She is survived by her daughters: Norma L. Dickinson of Casselberry, FL, Marjorie M. Stake of Jensen Beach, FL, Nancy W. Bryant of Shrewsbury; son, David C. Briggs of Shrewsbury; and her sisters: Olive (Sue) Johnson of Port Richey, FL and Lillian Wright of South Yarmouth, MA. She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Briggs and son, Richard H. Briggs.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy S. Briggs to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104-2396.

She will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury MA, in the Spring.
