Lillian Johnson Obituary

Lillian M. (White) Johnson, 84, of West Boylston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 surrounded by her loving family.

Lillian was born in Worcester, the daughter of David R. and Ida A. (Turpin) White and lived 60 years in West Boylston. She graduated from Commerce High School and was employed for over 25 years at Astra Pharmaceuticals of Westborough.

Lillian leaves behind her daughter and best friend, Sally M. Cassidy of West Boylston; two granddaughters, Katelyn P. Dagostino and her husband Derek of Jefferson and Jaclyn Piche and her husband Jared of West Boylston; a great-grandson, Brayden M. Dagostino of Jefferson; a sister, Evelyn Malitas, wife of Thomas of Holden; her friend and sister-in-law, Ruth Johnson of Sterling; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband of 47 years, Howard L. Johnson passed away in 1995. Three brothers, Harold White of West Boylston, Gordon White of Worcester and David White of Virginia, and a sister, Marion White of Worcester, predeceased her.

Lillian was an incredible woman who unselfishly gave of herself to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She struggled for the past 7 years while undergoing dialysis, but never complained. Her life was her family, friends, her daughter and granddaughters and, her new little great-grandson, Brayden. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Lillian most always referred to her as a wonderful woman. She looked forward to "going home" and spending Christmas with her husband "Links" who passed 13 years ago. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to all those who cared for Lillian during her illness, more specifically UMass Memorial Hospice, Beaumont Rehab., DaVita Dialysis, Ease-care and many others who touched her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16th in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Rd., (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral for Lillian will be held on Wednesday from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation of Massachusetts, 85 Aster Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 012062, or UMass Home Health and Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605.

I offer my deepest sympathy to Lillian's family. I had the pleasure of knowing Lillian for over 3yrs at DaVita. She always had a smile and kind word for everyone. She was so joyful when speaking of her infant great-grandson Brayden and proudly showed us his latest pictures. She was such a sweet lady. I will miss her.
