Stasia Maher Obituary

Stasia M. (Zajac) Maher, 85, of Central St., died Sat., Dec. 13, at Milford Regional Medical Center. Her husband Francis Maher died in 1976.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Kathleen Mullaly and her husband John with whom she lived and Barbara Scungio and her husband James of Uxbridge; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her brother, Joseph Zajac of N. Palm Beach, FL and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frank and Stanely Zajac; her sister, Mary Fierley and infant twin sister Josephine Zajac.

Born in Millville, on Feb. 9, 1923, she was the daughter of John and Magelina (Betka) Zajac and has lived in Millville all of her life. Mrs. Maher worked for many years at the former Stanley Woolen Co. in Uxbridge, Nelmor in Millville and CVS pharmacy warehouse in Woonsocket, RI. She was a member of St. Augustine Church and the Polish American Citizens Club of Millville. Stasia enjoyed crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family.

Her funeral will be held on Tue., Dec. 16 with a service at 11:30 a.m. in the Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Uxbridge. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Tue., Dec.16 from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stasia's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
