Theresa Murphy Obituary

Theresa L. "Terry" Murphy, 84, formerly of Neptune Dr. Shrewsbury died Saturday, December 13th in Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton after an illness.

Her husband, Richard M. Murphy died in 1998. Terry is survived by a daughter, Deborah A. Kotlarz and her husband, Vincent of Bolton; three grandchildren, Katherine Ledoux of Bolton, Kyle Kotlarz of Bolton and Sean Kotlarz of California; two brothers, Gerald Long and his wife, Joan of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Gilbert Long of Dorval, Quebec, Canada; also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings, Jeannette Boisselle, Grace Richard, James Long and Donald Long.

Terry was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada daughter of the late James and Marie (Vachon) Long. She lived in Shrewsbury for 40 years and was a faithful parishioner of Saint Mary's Church before moving to Bolton to live with her daughter's family.

Mrs. Murphy worked as the Executive Administrator for various firms including Canadian Industries, Ltd. and Hobbs Manufacturing before completing her career at the House of Affirmation in Whitinsville. She retired in 1989 to help care for her granddaughter.

Terry's unconditional love, kindness, humility and gentle spirit touched all those who met her. She created a wonderful legacy as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, dear friend and neighbor and will be missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Murphy's family on Friday, December 19th from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20th at 10 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Memorial contributions can be made to Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in memory of Terry Murphy and mailed to 191 Foster Street, Littleton, MA 01460.
