Carmela Rano Obituary

Carmela D. (Mastrovito) Rano, 88, died Tuesday, June 16th in the Millbury Health Care Center.

She leaves two sons: Frank D. Rano of Millbury and Gene S. Rano of Marlborough; a sister, Shirley Maffie of Worcester; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Cherry, Robin, Robbie, Michael and John Rano; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Antionette Mastrovito; a daughter, Agatha Wheeler; a son, John Rano Jr.; two granddaughters: Kim Tasse and Melissa Rano; two sisters: Rose Mastrovito and Frances Haggopian.

Carmela was a seamstress for Seed the Tailor in Worcester for many years. She was an avid fan of NASCAR and Tiger Woods playing golf and also enjoyed her grandchildren and gardening.

Her graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19th in St. John's Cemetery (St. Stephen's Section), 260 Cambridge St. in Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolence book and directions available at:
